Despite Selangor FC’s (SFC) commanding 4–0 advantage, Negeri Sembilan FC (NSFC) are refusing to surrender easily as they prepare for the decisive second leg of the FA Cup quarterfinal at the Petaling Jaya City Council Stadium (MBPJ) tomorrow night.
Head coach Nidzam Jamil has made it clear that his side are determined to fight until the final whistle in their mission to overturn the deficit and keep their FA Cup campaign alive.
“The players are athletes — they’ve expressed their commitment to give everything in this battle for a semifinal spot,” said Nidzam. “We know it won’t be easy, but football has shown us time and again that nothing is impossible. As long as the fight isn’t over, we’ll keep pushing. Being four goals down is a huge challenge, but anything can happen in football — our focus is to win, even on away ground.”
In the first leg at Stadium Tuanku Abdul Rahman, Paroi on October 18, The Red Giants displayed a clinical performance, defeating the Jangs 4–0 courtesy of goals from Faisal Halim (brace), Chrigor Moraes, and Zach Paul Clough.
Acknowledging the uphill task ahead, Nidzam emphasized the need for flawless execution, composure, and mental resilience from his players.
“It’s definitely not easy — Selangor are an experienced team, they’re playing in the ACL2 (Asian Champions League 2) and were Super League runners-up last season. But this is football; anything can happen. With strong mentality and positivity throughout the match, God willing, we can make something special happen,” he added.
The 45-year-old tactician also hopes that their recent 2–0 Super League win over PDRM FC will serve as a timely morale booster heading into this crucial tie.
As Negeri Sembilan march into Petaling Jaya, their mission is clear — to fight with pride, belief, and the unyielding spirit of “Hobin Jang Hobin.”
