Luqman Shines as Negeri Sembilan Edge Timor Leste 2-1 in International Friendly

Although there was no Super League action this week, the spirit of Sang Rusa remained as strong as ever. Negeri Sembilan FC (NSFC) made full use of the break by hosting a Tier 2 international friendly against the Timor Leste national team — a move aimed at strengthening team cohesion and keeping players in peak condition ahead of the domestic campaign.

In front of more than 2,000 loyal supporters at Stadium Tuanku Abdul Rahman, Nidzam Jamil’s men rewarded the Hobin Jang Hobin faithful with a 2-1 victory in an entertaining encounter.

The night belonged to Luqman Hakim Shamsudin, who struck twice in the first half to give NSFC the edge. His performance not only sealed the win but also showcased his growing confidence and maturity on the pitch, proving his rising importance within the team’s attacking line this season.

For Timor Leste, the match provided valuable preparation ahead of their 2027 AFC Asian Cup Qualifier against Tajikistan on November 18.

Following last week’s 2-2 draw against DPMM FC, Negeri Sembilan currently sit sixth in the Super League standings with 12 points — just behind Selangor FC.

More than just a friendly win, the night at Paroi reflected the unity and passion between the players and supporters — a reminder that the NSFC spirit lives not only on the field but also in the hearts of all who proudly wear the yellow and black.
