Post-Match Reaction: Nidzam Jamil Urges Stronger Winning Mentality

Sidang media selepas perlawanan Negeri Sembilan FC vs Terengganu FC | Liga Super 2025/26 | LS10 | 22 November | Stadium Tuanku Abdul Rahman

Negeri Sembilan FC were left with mixed emotions after a 1–1 draw against Terengganu FC at Stadium Tuanku Abdul Rahman, despite playing with a one-man advantage for most of the match.

In the post-match press conference, head coach Nidzam Jamil shared an honest and reflective assessment of his team’s performance, calling for greater maturity, tactical discipline, and a true “winning mentality.”

“We lost two points today.”

Opening his remarks, Nidzam admitted that the team should have secured all three points, especially after Terengganu were reduced to 10 men early in the match.

“I feel we lost two points. Against 10 men, we needed to show better tactical management and know how to kill the game.”

Despite the numerical advantage, Nidzam highlighted that Terengganu continued to control portions of the match and even threatened late on, exposing moments of naivety from his squad.

Learning How to ‘Kill the Game’

The head coach emphasised that closing out matches is not just about tactical precision, but also mental strength.

“We need to grow mentally as winners. When we’re leading, we must know how to finish the game. We cannot afford small mistakes.”

He cited previous matches—against Brunei and Penang—where similar lapses occurred, reminding the team that these patterns must be corrected for the club to progress.

Playing Against 10 Men Is Not Always Easier

Nidzam also pushed back on the perception that facing a team with fewer players automatically guarantees superiority.

“Many people don’t agree, but playing against 10 is often the hardest. The team with 10 players usually shows more concentration than the 11.”

He stressed that football requires collective thinking—numerical advantage only matters when the entire team responds with the right mentality and discipline.

Praise for Luqman Hakim’s First Super League Goal

One bright spot from the match was Luqman Hakim Shamsudin, who scored his first Liga Super goal for NSFC.

“I’m happy for him. He works hard in training and with the national team. He deserves that goal.”

Nidzam expressed confidence that Luqman’s continued development will benefit the squad in upcoming matches.

Recognising Progress, But Demanding More

Reflecting on their opponents, Nidzam reminded that Terengganu—consistently finishing in the top four in recent seasons—are a strong side, while Negeri Sembilan are still building from last year’s 13th-place finish.

“There is improvement, but why take one point when we could take three? We must learn and grow from this.”

Despite the frustration, he remained positive about the team’s trajectory, stressing that such challenges are part of the evolution of a developing squad.

Negeri Sembilan FC resume preparations immediately, with Nidzam emphasising that the next phase of the season requires sharper focus, stronger mentality, and the hunger to secure maximum points.

Demi Negeri, Demi Negara. Hobin Jang Hobin!

Late Equaliser Denies Negeri Sembilan FC in Hard-Fought Draw at Paroi

Terengganu FC staged a late comeback to hold Negeri Sembilan FC (NSFC) to a 1-1 draw in this evening’s Super League clash at Stadium Tuanku Abdul Rahman, Paroi.

Despite being reduced to 10 men as early as the 15th minute, the visitors displayed remarkable resilience to challenge the home side throughout the match. Terengganu’s Myanmar import, Kyaw Min Oo, was shown a straight red card by referee Muhammad Usaid Jamal after a foul on Joseph Esso.

With a numerical advantage, Nidzam Jamil’s men piled relentless pressure on the Terengganu goal, which was initially guarded by Syed Muhammad Nasrulhaq. However, the goalkeeper was later forced off due to injury and replaced by Suhaimi Husin.

NSFC finally broke the deadlock in first-half stoppage time when Luqman Hakim Shamsudin finished clinically, giving the Hobin Jang Hobin faithful plenty to cheer about as the teams headed into the break 1-0 ahead.

The second half saw Terengganu reorganise their play, pushing forward with counter-attacking intent despite the disadvantage. NSFC’s defence held firm for most of the half, thwarting several promising attempts from the visitors.

However, the equaliser eventually arrived in the 90th minute when Nurillo Tukhtasinov capitalised on a well-placed pass from Muhammad Ubaidullah Shamsul Fazli to level the score.

The 1-1 result stood until the final whistle, with both sides ultimately settling for a share of the points.

Luqman Shines as Negeri Sembilan Edge Timor Leste 2-1 in International Friendly

Although there was no Super League action this week, the spirit of Sang Rusa remained as strong as ever. Negeri Sembilan FC (NSFC) made full use of the break by hosting a Tier 2 international friendly against the Timor Leste national team — a move aimed at strengthening team cohesion and keeping players in peak condition ahead of the domestic campaign.

In front of more than 2,000 loyal supporters at Stadium Tuanku Abdul Rahman, Nidzam Jamil’s men rewarded the Hobin Jang Hobin faithful with a 2-1 victory in an entertaining encounter.

The night belonged to Luqman Hakim Shamsudin, who struck twice in the first half to give NSFC the edge. His performance not only sealed the win but also showcased his growing confidence and maturity on the pitch, proving his rising importance within the team’s attacking line this season.

For Timor Leste, the match provided valuable preparation ahead of their 2027 AFC Asian Cup Qualifier against Tajikistan on November 18.

Following last week’s 2-2 draw against DPMM FC, Negeri Sembilan currently sit sixth in the Super League standings with 12 points — just behind Selangor FC.

More than just a friendly win, the night at Paroi reflected the unity and passion between the players and supporters — a reminder that the NSFC spirit lives not only on the field but also in the hearts of all who proudly wear the yellow and black.

NSFC To Face Timor Leste In International Friendly

Negeri Sembilan FC (NSFC) will make full use of the ongoing Super League break by organizing an International Tier 2 Friendly Match against the Timor Leste national team this Sunday at Stadium Tuanku Abdul Rahman, Paroi.

The fixture serves as a proactive step by Head Coach Mohd Nidzam Jamil and his backroom staff to maintain the team’s rhythm and competitiveness during the league hiatus.

According to the official statement from Negeri Sembilan Football Club’s Facebook page, the friendly is designed with a clear purpose — to keep the players match-fit and ensure they gain valuable playing minutes.

“The objective is to maintain match fitness and give players game time — not just an experiment,” the admin clarified in response to fan discussions online.

The match also offers an opportunity for the coaching staff to reassess player performances and chemistry before returning to domestic competition later this month.

Across social media, supporters have shown strong approval for the initiative, viewing it as a smart move to keep the team sharp.

Fan Shafiq Ghapar commented, “It’s a good way to build chemistry — practice makes perfect,” while another supporter, Mohd Khaiz, praised the decision, saying that a long break should be filled with matches like this to sustain team momentum and improve any areas that still need fine-tuning.

Overall, fans believe this approach will help The Jangs remain competitive and well-prepared once the Super League resumes on 21 November, following the upcoming FIFA international break.

As a reminder, this weekend will feature the FA Cup semi-finals, involving Sabah FC, Selangor FC, Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT), and Kuching City FC, before league action returns later in the month.

Currently, Negeri Sembilan FC sit sixth in the Super League standings with 12 points from eight matches, as the team looks to build further momentum heading into the second phase of the season.

MB Aminuddin: Evening Kick-Off Vital to Keep Paroi Alive!

Negeri Sembilan Menteri Besar and Negeri Sembilan FC (NSFC) Chairman, Dato’ Seri Aminuddin Harun, has called on the Malaysian Football League (MFL) to reschedule the upcoming Super League fixture between NSFC and Terengganu FC on 22 November to a night match, instead of the currently assigned 5.00 p.m. kick-off.

Dato’ Seri Aminuddin stressed that an evening match at Stadium Tuanku Abdul Rahman, Paroi would be more suitable, as most supporters are still at work during the late afternoon hours — a factor that could significantly affect fan turnout and the overall matchday atmosphere.

“Negeri Sembilan is not a team that should play in daylight. If the match kicks off at 5 p.m., many supporters will not be able to make it in time.

As the home team, we should be given the flexibility to determine an appropriate time — even if it means a 10 p.m. kick-off — as long as it allows fans to come and show their support,” he said after officiating the Negeri Sembilan State-Level Innovation Appreciation Ceremony earlier today.

The Menteri Besar also highlighted that Paroi’s strong attendance throughout the season has been one of the driving forces behind NSFC’s consistent performances under head coach Mohd Nidzam Jamil, with the team currently sitting sixth in the Super League table with 12 points.

He expressed hope that MFL will reconsider the scheduling decision, ensuring a more vibrant and fan-friendly atmosphere that maintains Paroi’s reputation as one of the most passionate home grounds in Malaysian football.

Nidzam Jamil: “A Valuable Point Away From Home”

Post-match Press Conference | DPMM FC vs Negeri Sembilan FC | Malaysia Super League 2025–26 | LS9 | 2 November | Stadium Negara Hassanal Bolkiah

Head Coach of Negeri Sembilan FC, Nidzam Jamil, reflected on his team’s performance following their 2–2 draw against DPMM FC in Brunei, describing the match as one of two contrasting halves and acknowledging the challenges of playing away from home on a short turnaround.

“We saw two very different halves tonight. In the first half, we didn’t play the way we expected, and DPMM were very good at putting the ball behind our defence,” said Nidzam. “We tried to win the first and second balls, but it wasn’t easy. In the second half, we made adjustments and pushed to get back into the game.”

Despite a demanding schedule — just four days since their previous intense fixture — Nidzam praised his players for their persistence and willingness to take risks until the final whistle.

“We had chances to kill the game at 2–1 or 3–1, but we couldn’t take them. That’s football. Still, I’m happy the players kept trying to score even in the last 10 minutes. They showed good fighting spirit,” he added.

The Negeri Sembilan coach also touched on the referee’s decisions and DPMM’s tactical approach, emphasizing the importance of accepting circumstances and maintaining focus.

“The penalty decision is part of the game, and we respect that. DPMM played well at home — every team has that advantage, especially when we only had three days to prepare and had to travel yesterday,” he explained.

Nidzam concluded by noting that the point earned away in Brunei was a respectable outcome for his side.

“Considering the travel, the short rest, and the intensity of our recent matches, I think one point away from home is good. For a club like Negeri Sembilan, we can be satisfied with that.”

The result keeps Negeri Sembilan FC moving steadily through their Malaysia Super League campaign as they look ahead to their next challenge back on home soil.

Late Penalty Drama Denies Negeri Sembilan FC Victory in Brunei

Negeri Sembilan FC were left frustrated after a late penalty saw DPMM FC salvage a 2-2 draw in a thrilling Super League encounter at the Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium earlier tonight.

The hosts, chasing their second win of the season, started strongly and created several dangerous chances in the opening half — the closest coming in the 13th minute when Jordan Murray’s strike flew narrowly wide of the Negeri Sembilan goal.

Negeri Sembilan soon found their rhythm, with Luqman Hakim Shamsudin testing DPMM goalkeeper Michel Dos Santos with a long-range effort in the 27th minute.

The breakthrough finally came for the visitors in the 54th minute when Jovan Motika’s precise free-kick was met by a well-timed header from Joseph Esso to give Negeri Sembilan a deserved lead.

However, DPMM equalised in the 62nd minute through a Jordan Murray penalty after a VAR review confirmed a handball by Khuzaimi Piee.

Negeri Sembilan quickly restored their advantage just three minutes later, when Esso turned provider — setting up Motika, who fired home with a powerful finish to make it 2-1.

Unfortunately, more VAR drama struck in the 81st minute as another handball decision, this time against Filip Andersen, gifted DPMM a second penalty. Murray once again made no mistake from the spot to bring the game level.

The match ended 2-2, with Negeri Sembilan remaining in sixth place on 12 points — narrowly missing the chance to overtake Terengganu and Selangor in the standings.

Meanwhile, DPMM climbed to 10th with five points after eight matches.
