Negeri Sembilan FC (NSFC) continued to impress with a commanding victory over Sabah FC, as head coach Mohd Nidzam Jamil praised both his players’ determination and the incredible support from the stands.
“First of all, I want to say thank you to all the fans. In our last three matches, the support we’ve received has been something I’ve never experienced before. Not only myself, but the players really need this kind of encouragement,” said Nidzam.
The night also marked a milestone for NSFC, as the team kept their first clean sheet of the Liga Super season. “We tried to play offensive football but remained cautious because previously we conceded too many goals. Tonight, we defended better, avoided conceding from set pieces or mistakes, and I’m very happy with the outcome of our preparation this week,” he explained.
Nidzam highlighted the impact of key scorers Jovan Motika, Alexander Agyakwa, and Joseph Esso. “Motika’s goal came from a quick transition, Alex was smart to win the second ball, while Esso showed his value as a striker who also works extremely hard defensively, helping the team all the way back in our own box. That’s a very high quality for me, and I’m really happy with Esso’s commitment,” he noted.
He also praised the contributions of other players, including Mio Tsuneyasu, who provided the assist, and Luqman, who has just returned from injury and is starting to make a strong impact. “We’re glad to have options who can change the rhythm of the game when needed,” he added.
Looking ahead to the next away match against Penang FC, Nidzam emphasized the importance of consistency. “We’ll prepare in the same way, but first I want to check on some minor knocks the players picked up. Once we review their condition, then we’ll plan for Penang,” he concluded.
