Luqman Hakim Makes His Negeri Sembilan and Super League Debut

Prolific young national striker Luqman Hakim has officially made his long-awaited debut for Negeri Sembilan FC and in the Malaysia Super League.

Luqman’s name is no stranger to Malaysian football fans, having risen to prominence in 2019 when his stunning long-range strike against Cambodia in the AFC U-19 Asian Cup qualifiers captured the nation’s attention.

The 23-year-old marked his first appearance for Hobin Jang Hobin in the Matchweek 5 clash against Imigresen FC. Coming on as a substitute for A. Selvan in the 66th minute, Luqman immediately made his presence felt with a dangerous attacking move shortly after entering the pitch.

Head coach Nidzam Jamil praised the forward’s debut performance, while highlighting the importance of competitive minutes in his development:

“Luqman needs games like this to build his temperament and experience. Training is one thing, but real match exposure is different. I’m pleased with his positive attitude, and I believe he can continue contributing to the team whether starting or coming off the bench,” said Nidzam.

This debut marks a new chapter for Luqman, who will look to build momentum and become an integral part of the Negeri Sembilan attack. Fans won’t have to wait long for his next appearance, as NSFC will face Sabah FC on September 27 at their home ground in Paroi.
