Negeri Sembilan FC’s forward, N. Javabilaarivin, is riding a new wave of confidence after finding his scoring touch in the recent 3-2 victory over Selangor FC in the FA Cup quarter-final second leg at the MBPJ Stadium last Wednesday.
The 25-year-old striker netted Negeri Sembilan’s second goal in the 27th minute — a fine header that showcased both timing and composure. Despite the spirited win, The Jangs bowed out of the competition on a 6-3 aggregate, following a 0-4 defeat in the first leg at Paroi.
Having spent much of the season on the bench, Javabilaarivin earned the trust of head coach Nidzam Jamil, who handed him a place in the starting eleven for the decisive clash.
“When Coach Nidzam told me I’d be starting, my focus was clear — to give everything I could and help the team score,” said Javabilaarivin.
“I’m thankful for the opportunity and proud to have contributed with a goal against such a strong opponent. Of course, we hoped that it would spark a comeback, but in the end, Selangor’s aggregate lead was too much to overcome.”
While the defeat ended Negeri Sembilan’s FA Cup journey, Javabilaarivin sees his first goal of the season as a vital boost to his morale and self-belief heading into the upcoming Super League and Malaysia Cup campaigns.
A former Malaysia U-19 international, the Kuala Lumpur-born forward is now determined to maintain top form and stay ready whenever the team needs him.
“Whether I start or not is up to the coach, but as a player, I must always be ready when called upon,” he added. “I’ll continue working hard and hope to feature again, especially in our next Super League match against DPMM FC this Sunday.”
With renewed motivation and growing confidence, Javabilaarivin’s performance offers a positive sign for Negeri Sembilan FC as the team prepares for the next phase of the season.
