Negeri Sembilan FC returned from Hang Jebat empty-handed after a challenging 0–2 defeat to Melaka FC in tonight’s Liga Super encounter.
The home side struck early, with Brazilian import Juan Douglas Da Silva netting twice—first in the 3rd minute and again in the 26th minute—to secure all three points for Melaka. Despite a strong push from NSFC, the early setback proved difficult to overturn.
Melaka’s opener came through a powerful strike from Juan Douglas after a deflected corner fell kindly at his feet, beating Azri Ghani in goal. NSFC worked to regain control, but Melaka’s defensive structure limited clear breakthroughs.
The hosts doubled their lead midway through the first half when Juan Douglas found the net again. Although NSFC players appealed for offside, the VAR review confirmed the goal, giving Melaka a two-goal cushion heading into the break.
The second half saw NSFC create promising moments. Just two minutes after the restart, Luqman Hakim Shamsudin came close, but his effort drifted wide. In the 56th minute, Jovan Motika nearly halved the deficit, only to be denied by the left post.
Tension rose late in the match, and captain Ahmad Khuzaimi Piee was shown a red card following an off-the-ball incident.
Despite the result, NSFC continues to show fighting spirit, and attention now turns to regrouping and preparing for the next fixture.
