Imigresen FC 1–1 Negeri Sembilan FC: Points Shared in Batu Kawan

Imigresen FC and Negeri Sembilan FC (NSFC) shared the spoils after an intense Malaysia Super League encounter ended 1–1 at the Negeri Pulau Pinang Stadium in Batu Kawan earlier this evening.

Early Chances for Both Sides

NSFC started aggressively, with striker Jovan Motika nearly breaking the deadlock in the 4th minute after outmuscling home captain Rizal Ghazali, only for his powerful shot to sail over the bar.

The hosts responded swiftly as Keron Ornchaiyaphum came close twice — first with a free-kick that went narrowly wide in the 10th minute, and again four minutes later when his attempt was blocked by defender Alex Agyarkwa.

Imigresen Strike First

In the 26th minute, Imigresen took the lead through Wilmar Jordan, who calmly slotted home after a slick build-up involving Halim Saari and Eduardo Sosa.

NSFC pushed hard for a reply and nearly equalised in the 33rd minute via a Takumi Sasaki free-kick, but his weak effort was easily collected by goalkeeper Farhan Majid.

The breakthrough came in first-half stoppage time when Motika coolly converted an assist from A. Selvan, making it 1–1 heading into the break.

Tense Second Half

The Jangs kept up the pressure after the restart, earning a free-kick in the 51st minute, but Agyarkwa’s finishing touch failed to trouble the keeper.

Imigresen’s best chance of the half arrived in the 74th minute when Elvis Kamsoba’s cross found substitute Fayyadh Ghazali, but the forward miscontrolled under pressure, wasting the opportunity.

The final 10 minutes saw tempers flare with a few heated exchanges, but neither side could find a winner as the match ended in a draw.

Final Score

Imigresen FC 1–1 Negeri Sembilan FC

⚽ Wilmar Jordan (26’)
⚽ Jovan Motika (45+1’)

Negeri Sembilan Advance to FA Cup Quarterfinals Despite Defeat in Selayang

Negeri Sembilan FC (NSFC) became the first team to book their place in the 2025–26 FA Cup quarterfinals, despite falling to a narrow 1–0 defeat against PDRM FC in the second leg of their Round of 16 tie at the Selayang Municipal Council Stadium tonight.

The Jangs progressed with a comfortable 5–1 aggregate score, thanks to their emphatic 5–0 victory in the first leg at the Tuanku Abdul Rahman Stadium, Paroi, on August 18.

Match Summary

PDRM signaled their intent early, taking the lead in the 4th minute when Fakhrul Azim Mohd Zulphatah rose highest to nod home a cross from Park Tae-soo, briefly reviving their hopes of a comeback.

Their best chance to cut further into the deficit came in the 58th minute when they were awarded a penalty after NSFC goalkeeper Azri Ghani fouled Bernard Doumbia inside the box. However, Ahmad Israiwah squandered the opportunity, sending his spot-kick over the crossbar. Just five minutes later, Doumbia was denied again, this time by a sharp save from Azri.

Despite introducing key players, including star forward Jovan Motika, Negeri Sembilan could not find a breakthrough but managed the game well to preserve their aggregate advantage.

What’s Next

With qualification sealed, Nidzam Jamil’s side will now turn their attention to the quarterfinals, where they await the winner of the tie between Selangor FC and Malaysian University FT. On paper, Selangor are expected to progress after carrying a 3–1 advantage from the first leg played on August 16.

For Negeri Sembilan, this marks another step in their quest to relive the glory of 2010, the last time they lifted the FA Cup.

FA Cup Round of 16 Second Leg Preview: PDRM FC vs Negeri Sembilan FC

Negeri Sembilan FC (NSFC) will head to the Selayang Municipal Council Stadium tomorrow night for the second leg of their FA Cup Round of 16 tie against PDRM FC.

The Jangs carry a commanding advantage after their emphatic 5–0 victory in the first leg at Paroi on August 18. Despite the cushion, head coach Mohd Nidzam Jamil has warned against complacency, stressing that cup competitions are always unpredictable.

“This is the FA Cup. Many things can happen. We must approach the game with the same attitude, identity, and concentration as always. Even with a five-goal lead, it doesn’t mean we go to Selayang half-heartedly,” Nidzam said.

He also revealed that six players were unavailable due to recent international duty, but preparations with the rest of the squad have been positive. “We’ve had good training sessions and some friendlies. I’m happy with the commitment shown. Khuzaimi Piee and Luqman Hakim are recovering well and being closely monitored,” he added.

Right-back Ariff Ar-Rasyid echoed the coach’s sentiment, emphasising that the team’s morale is strong but they cannot afford to underestimate their opponents.

“The team’s spirit and motivation are high, but tomorrow won’t be easy. PDRM have quality players, especially in midfield and attack. Our strength lies in teamwork and understanding, and we aim to finish with a good result,” Ariff said.

NSFC head into this tie on the back of strong recent form, including a 2–1 win over Selangor FC and a 2–2 draw against Kuching City FC in the Super League. Securing progression to the quarterfinals would not only keep their FA Cup run alive but also further strengthen their growing confidence this season.

The Jangs last lifted the FA Cup in 2010 under Wan Jamak Wan Hassan. With momentum building and supporters firmly behind them, the squad is determined to bring back those glory days.
