Post-Match Reactions from Negeri Sembilan FC Head Coach

Negeri Sembilan FC’s head coach, Nidzam Jamil reflected positively on his team’s spirited display against Selangor FC, highlighting both the challenges and the character shown by his players in front of an impressive 25,550 supporters at Stadium Tuanku Abdul Rahman, Paroi.

“It was never going to be easy against a strong side like Selangor, who just came back from the ACC. They have momentum, while we are only in our ninth week together. There’s still plenty of homework to do,” said the coach.

He praised the commitment and leadership of senior players such as Joseph Esso, Takumi, and Luis, while also singling out the impact of new faces.

“We could have settled for a draw, but we wanted to push for another goal. We’re fortunate to have players who can change the game – Mio was a highlight, and young Haiqal Danish making his league debut was very encouraging. Contributions from Hadin, Zainal and others in the second half showed the depth and balance in our squad.”

The coach also acknowledged the significance of playing in front of a packed stadium.

“For some of the new players, especially imports, adjusting to 25,000 fans isn’t easy. But with experienced teammates around, they managed to settle down. It’s been a long time since this stadium was filled like that, and it’s a great feeling.”

When asked about season targets, the coach remained focused on the bigger picture:

“Of course the club has expectations, but my main goal is to make the people of Negeri Sembilan proud. I want the supporters to feel that these players are giving their all for them. Results and performances will follow, but our pride and identity come first.”

Looking ahead, he stressed the importance of recovery and preparation:

“Now it’s about checking injuries, monitoring fatigue, and planning for the next session with the medical team. We respect every opponent, and we’ll continue working to improve.”
