Negeri Sembilan FC (NSFC) enter tonight’s Super League showdown against Selangor FC with confidence and morale at their highest, boosted by strong performances and overwhelming fan support at Paroi.
Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Muhammad Faliq Firdaus Muhammad Rom confirmed that the players are highly motivated, with the club expecting a record crowd at the Stadium Tuanku Abdul Rahman.
“We are optimistic ahead of facing Selangor, but we must not be overconfident. The players are eager to continue our positive momentum this season. Ticket sales have been outstanding, with 15,000 already sold by last night, and we expect the figure to reach 20,000. The players can’t wait to perform in front of a packed home crowd,” Faliq told Mingguan Malaysia.
Anticipated Crowd Atmosphere
The expected turnout would mark one of NSFC’s largest attendances in recent years. Faliq recalled the last time Paroi hosted such numbers was during the clash with Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) in 2022, when 22,000 fans filled the stands.
With fans responding enthusiastically to NSFC’s early-season displays, tonight’s match against Selangor—often dubbed the “Raja Lembah Klang”—is set to be one of the highlights of the season.
Squad News and Challenges
Despite the positive energy, head coach Mohd Nidzam Jamil faces some key absences.
- Alex Agyarkwa will be unavailable due to a “gentleman’s agreement” with his parent club, Selangor.
- Luqman Hakim Shamsudin remains sidelined with injury.
- Captain Ahmad Khuzaimi Piee is still recovering and unlikely to feature.
“If not for these three, the squad would be fully fit. But we will work with what we have, and the players are ready to step up,” Faliq added.
A Resurgent Negeri Sembilan
NSFC’s encouraging start to the season has reignited belief among supporters. The team almost stunned reigning champions JDT in their league opener, scoring three goals in a narrow 3–5 defeat in Johor. They then produced a resounding 5–0 victory over PDRM FC in the FA Cup, reaffirming their attacking strength and tactical evolution under Nidzam.
After several difficult seasons, the club’s new-look squad—featuring fresh imports, homegrown talents, and the leadership of Nidzam—has sparked a renewed wave of excitement in Negeri Sembilan football.
